On Tuesday 11th May the Busby Flower Club held their annual Open Night in support of both the Myotubular Trust and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Club member Margaret Hislop, whose fourteen month old great-nephew, Will, has myotubular myopathy, nominated the Trust and was absolutely delighted when it was selected.

310 tickets were sold to club members, their friends and family and to members of ten other local flower clubs. A great evening was spent watching a demonstration from Richard Haslam from Galway . Richard is one of Ireland ’s best known designer florists; he has won gold awards at both Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower shows as well as having arranged flowers for the papal visit to Ireland and heads of state, including Bill Clinton and George Bush.

After the demonstration, Margaret accepted a very generous donation of £500 from the flower club, on behalf of the Trust.
